Can Oatmeal Get Stuck
in My Lap Band?

by Desire
(Dolton,IL)

I am on day two with my lap band and I ate 3 teaspoons of oatmeal at noon. It is now 6pm and I still feel like I can feel the oatmeal in my stomach. Is it possible that it got stuck?

It's not unusual to feel full on a very small amount of food for an extended period of time in the very beginning.

However, you should stick with liquids only for the first few days (sometime as long as a couple of weeks) as you heal.

(Follow the diet progression provided by your doctor).

Usually when something gets stuck you'll feel terribly uncomfortable and/or throw up, or start pb'ing (productive burping), or producing lap band slime.
