Diabetic with Lap Band

I had my lap band surgery 14 Oct 2009 and have only
lost about 10 lbs.

I have diabetes and when I cut back on what I eat, my blood sugar drops and I have to eat carbs to bring my sugar back to normal.

What do other diabetics do to solve this problem?
