Flax Seed

by Robin
(Houston, Texas)

Everyone is talking about this supplement that helps burn fat. Is it good to take if you have the lap band?

Flax seeds are a good plant source of omega 3, an essential fat.

If you eat ground flax seeds you also get the benefit of the fiber. Sprinkle ground flax seeds on oatmeal, yogurt or in salad.

You can also use flax seed oil on salad. Don't cook with flax seed oil. Heating the oil damages the omega 3 fat.

If you don't get flax seeds regularly in your diet you can certainly take a flax seed oil supplement.

Even better...if you eat fish...fatty fish such as salmon, herring, and sardines are the best sources of omega 3.

Weight loss results from reducing calorie intake and increasing exercise. Simply adding flax seeds, flax seed oil, or a flax seed supplement won't make you lose weight unless you reduce overall caloric intake!
