Foods Allowed to Have After Lapband

by Barbara Mills
(Trenton NJ)

I am wondering if I can have white potatoes, or tortilla style sandwiches?
I have not have the gastric band yet. I am on the protein shakes now, and surgery is the 29th of April.

There is a bit of trial and error involved with the post surgery diet. You may or may not be able to tolerate the tortilla and potatoes.

A corn tortilla may be better tolerated than a flour tortilla. If you don't tolerate either, you can eat lettuce wrap sandwiches instead.

Note: Given the choice between white potato and sweet potato, I'd suggest the sweet potato for greater nutrition :)

Read what others have to say and more I've written on the topic here and here.

Congrats and good luck with your surgery!
