I'm the one on the left!

Hi! I'm new at this. I am a work in progress.

I was banded on 11/12/09 at Vanderbilt Hosp. Dr Brandon Williams performed the surgery.

I had no pain after the surgery just gas pain around the shoulder area. Recovery was fast I'm glad I went through it.

I will be having my first fill 12/18/09. I can't wait.

I started at 232lbs. I know they will weigh me Friday.

I can walk but because of my lung capacity I use a motorized wheel chair. I am trying to get walking more. When I walk I pay for it at night in bed. My calves, knees and hips kill. I'm sure it will get better.

I have Sarcoidosis of the lungs. Bernie Mac had Sarcoid.

I'm 65yrs old female. I have husband, a daughter 2 grand children

My grandson Edward just finished a tour in Iraq.
Sara is in community college her first year.I have a wonderful daughter. I adore my son in law. Life is good. God is good.

I will talk more as I progress into this new future.

Sarcoid

I too have Sarcoid. It is in remission. I am almost 55 years old. If I want to make 56 I have to have the surgery. I was worried about the sarcoid. But now I am just scared. I go to a seminar on Thursday. It's good to know the sarcoid is one less thing I have to worry about.

HI

I had a great holiday.

I am now able to eat just 1 portion of Christmas dinners vs. 3 portions. I eat a little bit of everything... and chew chew chew... I LOVE turkey ad stuffing.

My biggest suggestion to would be be to keep track of what your eating and make sure you eat your protein first...this helps keep you full.

I also still try not to eat a major meal past 7p.m.... this can be hard but it makes a huge difference.

How has Jan.2010 been going for you with the fill and holidays?

I was wondering if you are able to live comfortable with the new changes?

I would like to hear any suggestions you have to make the recovery time go by quickly, as I would like to go back to work in two days to a simple teacher's aide job (no physical work).

Any update you have on this new lifestyle is appreciated!
