Gastric Lap-Band Questions:
Baked Beans, Noodles, and Rollercoasters??

by Hannah
(Stoke)

Is it OK to eat baked beans and noodles??
Can I go on roller coasters?

There is some trial and error involved with the gastric lap-band diet. If you tolerate noodles, they are OK to eat in small amounts. Read more about bread, rice, and noodles here.

Beans are a great source of fiber and protein and are therefore a good choice. The yummy sauce on baked beans however, adds a little more sugar (calories) and sodium than plain beans would have.

That being said...

...Baked beans are better than no beans, and will fill you up and keep you full for a long time. I say...

...enjoy them in small quantities!

Regarding roller coasters...

...assuming you're fully recovered from your surgery there should be no problem riding them (and many lap-banders do!), but you may want to get your surgeon's OK if you've recently had surgery.
