Bariatric Recipes of the Week:
High Protein Oatmeal

High Protein Oatmeal

This week's Recipe of the Week is born from my LOVE, LOVE, LOVE of BSN Lean Dessert Protein Powder.

This is the brand of protein powder I typically start my day with...

...either in the form of a protein shake, or mixed with oatmeal. So I thought I'd share my "secret oatmeal" recipe!

I taste A LOT of protein powders so that I can stand behind what I recommend, and this protein powder is by far my favorite. It tastes amazing and it's got LOTS of protein:

1 scoop = 130 calories, 20 grams of protein, 7 grams carbohydrate, and 3 grams fat.

It tastes just like it sounds...DESSERT!

Although I use the cinnamon roll or banana nut flavor in the oatmeal, BSN Lean Dessert Protein Powder comes in lots of dessert like flavors:

  • Cinnamon Roll
  • Banana Nut
  • Banana Cream
  • Vanilla Cream
  • Chocolate Fudge
  • Chocolate Coconut

Protein Packed Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup old fashioned oatmeal
  • 1/2 scoop BSN Lean Dessert Protein Powder (cinnamon roll flavor or banana nut flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 5-6 chopped almonds

Directions:

  1. Prepare oatmeal with water (on stove top or in microwave).
  2. Before serving, stir in 1/2 scoop BSN Lean Dessert Protein Powder and cinnamon. Sprinkle with 5-6 chopped almonds. Top with a splash of vanilla soymilk if desired.

Makes 1 serving.

Per serving: 151 calories, 13 grams carbohydrate, 14 grams protein, 6 grams fat, 2 grams sugar, 2.5 grams fiber
