High Protein Snack Foods
You probably already know that high protein snacks between meals will help you meet the required protein after weight loss surgery. While turkey slices, chicken slices, cheese, protein shakes, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, turkey jerky, and hard boiled eggs are all great high protein low carb snacks, sometimes you just need some good ol' crunch! Hurray for Kay's Natural High Protein Chips and Pretzels!! Now don't get me wrong... ...these aren't necessarily "health foods." These are packaged, processed snack foods... ...but... ...they are an ok choice once in a while when you just need that crunch and are "sick" of the "usual" choices. :) One serving (1 ounce) of these high protein chips or pretzels provides 110 calories and 10 grams of protein (that's just a little more protein than 1 oz. of turkey or 1 hard boiled egg would provide). Kay's Natural High Protein Chips and Pretzels: CONS It may be hard to stop at one serving (one ounce)! These are high in protein, but they're not very bulky... ...they kind of dissolve like snowflakes on your tongue and that means they'll slip past the band pretty easily. Translation... ...you may be able to eat more than you should!! My suggestion? Include these high protein snacks occasionally, but make sure you portion them carefully and eat them mindfully! (And don't eat them directly from the box/bag.) Enjoy! More Product Reviews Your Personal Lap-Band Guide HOME
