Lap Band Eating at a Party

by Carolyn Fedele
(Tucson, AZ)

Given the choice of hot dogs and hamburgers, what do you eat?

The hotdog and hamburger BUNS are likely to cause you a problem, but you can just eat them "naked!"

It's also a good idea to bring something to a party that you know is "safe" to eat.

If it's a BBQ where hot dogs and hamburgers are being grilled, you could bring lowfat hot dogs, veggie burgers, or salmon burgers for yourself and other guests to try. Side dishes are nice to bring too. Ex: veggie tray with lowcal dip or hummus.

Another thought is to eat before you go so you're not hungry and tempted by foods you're unsure of or that aren't good for you.
