Phase II Foods

by Ruthie
(SD, USA)

I am 4 days post-op and I am trying to get all the liquids and protein I need. I am taking vitamins daily but I am concerned that I am not taking in enough.

I am only able to drink 1/2 a cup of a protein drink at a time and I am sipping on liquids pretty much all day to stay hydrated.

Problem (can't believe I am saying this) is I have absolutly no desire to eat. None.

I am wondering if this is temporary and will get better once the swelling goes down, and how long to expect that to take.
Thanks for any info.
Ruthie

It's not unusual to lose interest in food in the beginning.

There's no hard and fast rule as to when you'll be able to eat more and when you'll have a greater appetite, but most likely it will happen in the next month or so!

Hopefully Better Days Ahead
by: Anonymous

I am having the same exact problem, however my not taking in enough protein and liquids leaves me feeling kind of weak. I decided to call my doctor today to see what I should do. I also have periodic nausea(only 5 days post op)and what feels like a stabbing pain in my chest not sure if it is gas or indigestion. Can't wait for better days.

It does get better... you have to remember swelling can last for about 6 weeks... you need time to heal. I got full really fast even before my first fill.
