Watermelon on the Lap-Band Diet

by Elena

I was wondering if watermelon is a good choice or does it have too much sugar? Thank you.

Yes, watermelon is a good food choice.

Watermelon is a nutritional winner that's naturally low in saturated fat, total fat and cholesterol. A whole cup only has ~46 calories.

It's also packed with some of the most important antioxidants in nature. It's an excellent source of vitamin C and is also a very good source of beta-carotene.

Tomatoes usually get the spotlight for being a good source of lycopene (a plant compound well known for its ability to lower many different kinds of cancer). But guess what...

...Watermelon is also a very concentrated sources of lycopene and has even more than tomatoes.

Deep red flesh is the best indicator of the sweetest and most nutritious watermelon. Go enjoy some right now!
