Is Sugar One of the Lap-Band Diet Restrictions?
Can I eat sugar and sweet things anymore after Lap-Band surgery? I've heard about "dumping syndrome" happening after weight loss surgery and I don't know if I need to worry about it or not.
You don't need to worry about sugar causing dumping syndrome

, but you DO need to worry that eating too many high sugar foods can slow your weight loss.
Sugary foods like cookies, pies, pastries, ice-cream, chocolate, candy, regular soda pop, honey, syrup, jam/jelly, and sugar itself provide lots of calories in small amounts. You'll still be able to get these foods down after surgery, but I wouldn't recommend including them regularly!
Every bite you take matters even more
, now that you can only eat a small amount. Ideally, your food choices have high nutritional value. Unfortunatley, high sugar content foods have little nutritional value.
